In short
- Owner IQ is a database of U.S. business information, used for business-to-business outreach.
- It includes the names, titles and business phone numbers and emails of owners and officers, from public records, publicly available information and business-information sources.
- We make that information available to subscribers. Under some state laws that is a "sale," and anyone listed can opt out.
- Anyone listed can ask to see, correct or remove their information. We answer within 45 days.
- Owner IQ is not a consumer reporting agency and may not be used for credit, insurance, hiring or housing decisions.
Who this covers
This policy covers two groups of people: those whose business information appears in the Owner IQ database (owners, officers and other business contacts), and our customers and visitors to owner-iq.com and the Owner IQ app.
“Owner IQ,” “we” and “us” mean the provider of the Owner IQ service. “Subscribers” are the businesses and people who pay to use it.
What the database contains
Owner IQ is a database of United States businesses for business-to-business outreach. For a business it can hold:
- Business details: name, address, industry and classification codes, website, and years in business.
- Size: revenue and headcount, either reported or estimated.
- Public-record facts: FMCSA carrier registration, operating status, fleet size and listed officers; SBA Paycheck Protection Program loan records.
- People at the business: names, titles and ownership role, business phone numbers (including mobile numbers registered to or used for the business), and business email addresses.
We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health information, consumer credit information, or ongoing location data.
Where it comes from
- Government and public records, such as U.S. Department of Transportation (FMCSA) registrations and U.S. Small Business Administration loan data.
- Publicly available business information, such as company websites, business listings and other public sources, sometimes gathered with the help of AI research tools.
- Business-information sources that publish or supply company and contact data.
- People in the data who ask us to correct it.
When several sources describe the same company, we merge them into one record. Each record shows how many independent sources stand behind it.
Information about customers and visitors
- Account: name, email, company, and how you sign in.
- Billing: plan and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we do not store them.
- Use of the service: searches, filters, records viewed, and records exported or sent to other tools.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form or email.
- Technical: IP address, browser and device details, and logs we need to run and secure the service.
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The Owner IQ app keeps your sign-in in your browser's storage so you stay signed in.
How we use information
- To provide Owner IQ: search, records, exports and the tools subscribers use them in.
- To keep the database accurate: merging duplicates, refreshing records as sources change, and flagging numbers that are disconnected or invalid.
- To honor requests from people in the data, and to keep removed information from coming back.
- To bill, support and communicate with customers.
- To protect the service and the people in it, including limits on how much data can be extracted at once.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Your rights if you are in the database
Anyone whose information appears in Owner IQ can ask us to:
- tell them what we hold about them and the kinds of sources it came from, and give them a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete their information and keep it out of the database;
- stop making their information available to subscribers (opt out of sale or sharing).
How to ask
Use our privacy request form, or email support@owner-iq.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Tell us your name, the business name, and the phone number or email address on the record so we can find it.
What happens next
We confirm the request is yours before acting on it, and we accept requests from authorized agents with proof of their authority. We respond within 45 days, and if we need more time we will tell you why and take no more than 45 more. When we remove a record we keep a minimal note, such as the phone number or email address, only so the information is not added back from another source.
If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word “Appeal.” We answer appeals within 60 days.
Some state laws give these rights to their residents. We offer them to everyone in Owner IQ, and we will never treat anyone differently for using them.
If you are a customer
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your account information by writing to support@owner-iq.com. Some records, such as billing history, must be kept for legal reasons.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To stop your information being made available to subscribers, use the privacy request form and choose “Remove or correct my information,” or email support@owner-iq.com.
We do not sell or share information about visitors to this website. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out for anything we hold about you as a visitor.
Not for eligibility decisions
Owner IQ is a business-contact database. It is not a consumer reporting agency, and its information may not be used to decide anyone's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
How long we keep it
Database records are kept while they remain accurate and useful, and are refreshed, merged or removed as sources change or on request. Customer account information is kept while the account is open and afterward as needed for billing, security, legal obligations and disputes. Removal notes are kept so that removals stay removed.
Security
We protect information with administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access and limits on bulk extraction. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe something is wrong, tell us at support@owner-iq.com.
Children
Owner IQ is a business service. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.
Where information is processed
Owner IQ covers businesses in the United States and is operated from the United States, where information is stored and processed.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as Owner IQ, the law, or our providers change. The effective date at the top always shows the current version, and we will give notice of material changes.
